Jaguar xf and Jaguar x-typeJaguar Cars is known for making beautifully designed and powerful luxury cars in the UK. Two such cars include the Jaguar xf and Jaguar x-type. Both of these cars were made in the first decade of the 2000’s and both went through a few changes before the production was stopped on them (depending on the series, some are still in production). For newer-model Jaguars there are several differences as well as several similarites known to Jaguars in general. Jaguar xf The Jaguar xf is a mid-size luxury car and/or sports saloon made by Jaguar Cars in the UK. The xf has features from the xj as well as the s-type and several features of its own as well. The Jaguar xf was specifically designed to be more aerodynamic than its predecessors to me more fuel efficient and have less drag on the road. The chassis’ basic structure is reticent of the s-type but crash safety requirements made it necessary to modify it some to make it longer and provide more head room inside the vehicle. The suspension system is a reused version of the xk. Some series of the Jaguar xf are still in production today, like the xf supercharged or the xf police car. Jaguar x-type The Jaguar x-type is no longer in production as of 2009, but was more of an executive car than sports car, and was considered to be a compact, the smallest member to date of the Jaguar saloons. The general drive platform was based on a car under Jaguar Cars’ mother company Ford had, the CD132 platform. The grille of the Jaguar x-type was modified several times, during the years 2004, 2006, and in 2008 it received a full face lift. The remodel on the 2008 version made the car look more like the 2008 xf series. X-type Jaguars are made in the same factory as Land Rovers in Liverpool England. In 2008 several changes were made to the Jaguar x-type, including Bluetooth connectivity, revised parking aid systems, new alloy wheel designs, new speedometer and rev-counter designs, and a new rosewood veneer option. |
