Mercedes E Class and Toyota Avensis

Both the Mercedes E class and the Toyota Avensis have a unique history and features that make each unique from every other car. These are two pretty different cars that have different features, performance ratings, as well as safety features, and it is important to understand these differences before committing to buying one or the other as your choice.

Mercedes E Class

The Mercedes E class is considered a mid-size car, a luxury car. The E-class Mercedes were first produced in the 1950’s, and is now considered a best seller of Mercedes-Benz all over the world. E classes come with features like 6 or 8 cylinder gas or diesel engines, and are used for several purposes all over the world including police cruisers and taxis as well as executive cars.

Mercedes E class vehicles have some steep competition including the Lexus GS, BMW 5 series, and the Jaguar S type. Mercedes also produces hybrid models of the Mercedes E class, like the E300 BlueTEC HYBRID, which boasts a diesel/electric motor pair and severely decreased output of toxins dangerous to the environment.

Toyota Avensis

The Toyota Avensis is made in the UK in Derbyshire and is considered in the large family car class of vehicles, making it much different from the Mercedes E class, which is a cop-like car. The Avensis has been in production since 1998 and has gone through some changes since, and is now in its third generation. It comes with three different gas engines and four diesels.

Safety features are important in the Toyota Avensis and include a driver’s knee airbag, front row side airbags and two curtain airbags on the sides. Headrests are designed in the Toyota Avensis to prevent and reduce whiplash in case of an accident and flashing brakelights when emergency braking. These features make the Avensis a very safe automobile.

The third generation of the Toyota Avensis vehicle comes in both a sedan and wagon style body. The third generation was designed to look and handle sporty while giving it the best suspension yet in the Avensis. The sportier look is a change from the first two generations of Avensis, as those looked less sporty and more executive/family style.
